I saw a line of these pharaoh ants marching up and down one of my kitchen walls.

Near my  kitchen sink.

So " in the middle of the wall I choose to flatten four of them..

I watched closely.

The other ants marching the line back and forth?

I believe were too far away ultimately to see I had eliminated four ants .

Yet

When they marched out of the section of wall they were marching " back to the bottom and vice versa " they stopped  quite a distance before they got to the place where I had eliminated their comrades.

I'm sure they did not see the kill I made.

Of their comrades.

Yet still they strangely knew I had made the kill.

Because they stopped.

Then stared ahead..

For a bit..

Then such ants  quickly retreated and turned back.

They didnt do that before I had eliminated their partners.
